For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved fixing, building, and bringing things back to life. I was the kid taking things apart to figure out how they worked—and putting them back together, better. By middle school, I was already working, and by high school, I was managing the maintenance and operations of hundreds of properties and a 300-room hotel. That early hands-on experience shaped everything about how I approach construction today.
In my late teens and early twenties, I focused on restoring old homes—specifically a dozen historic properties in Kansas City’s Ivanhoe neighborhood. That work gave me a deep respect for architecture, craftsmanship, and the countless stories that buildings tell.
Along the way, I earned degrees in Urban Planning & Design, Spanish, and Sociology, and studied Structural Engineering at the University of Missouri-Kansas City—yes, I like to stay busy. Those studies sharpened my technical skills and broadened my understanding of people and places, both of which matter in construction.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked in just about every corner of the industry—from insurance adjusting and training adjusters, to doing hands-on building and remodeling, to project managing high-end renovations in the Bay Area, to consulting on construction operations after moving to Sacramento in 2018.
When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me near water—boating, surfing, or camping—or out rock climbing, hunting for antiques, or restoring vintage vehicles. More often than not, I’ve got a few of those hobbies going at once.
At Hatfield Builders, I’m proud to bring full-spectrum construction experience to every project. Whether it’s ground-up new construction or an intricate renovation, my team and I are here to deliver work that’s built to last—with care, precision, and a deep respect for the craft.
